Description: This is a 239-hour course, it will involve knowledge development, practical exercises and multiple training dives.

Over ten days(including the EFR course), the IDC teaches you to conduct all PADI core courses. You’ll be able to organize and present information, conduct skill development sessions and control open water dives. Basically, you become a better public speaker and get really good at demonstrating skills while watching out for student diver safety. Key topics include:

  • PADI Standards and Procedures for courses you can teach with in water workshops
  • Learning, Instruction and the PADI System
  • Risk Management and Diver Safety
  • The Business of Diving and your role as an instructor
  • Marketing Diving and Sales Counseling

You may be able to get college credit for the Assistant Instructor course and Instructor Development Course.

                                  December 3rd (through the 14th)

                                  January 7th (through the 18th)

                                  February 4th (through the 15th)

                                  March 4th (through the 15th)

                                  April 1st (through the 12th)

 

Objective: This course will prepare the student to pass the PADI Instructor Examination, a 2-day evaluation administered by PADI to ensure that student is ready to teach PADI directed courses. This course will also ensure the student is competent in the instruction of not only the basic courses, OW, ADV, RES and DM, but will allow them to teach 5 Specialty Courses, Deep Diver/Enriched Air Diver/Drift Diver/Search & Recovery/Underwater Navigation. This will prepare the student to enter the workforce in a capacity that dive resorts and dive centers need. It will also position the student to advance to Master Scuba Diver Trainer after certifying 25 students.
