Want to stay warm? Want to extend your scuba diving season? Then dive dry. A dry suit seals you off from the water and keeps you comfortable, even in surprisingly cold water. There is incredible diving in the world’s cooler regions and in some areas, conditions are even better in colder months. Becoming a dry suit diver allows you to expand your boundaries and dive more places, more often. Even though we are located in a warm water environment, Lahaina Divers can prepare you to continue your diving at home, on your next vacation and beyond with the Dry Suit Certification. You’ll learn how to take care of your dry suit, how to put it on and take it off with minimal assistance, mastering your buoyancy while diving dry and dive safety procedures when using a dry suit.

If you’re at least 10 years old and certified as a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or higher, you can enroll in the Dry Suit Diver course. Students in this specialty are required to provide their own dry suits and equipment.

You may be able to get college credit for the Dry Suit Diver course – ask your instructor.
Also, the first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification – ask your instructor about earning credit.

Cost: $179.00 not including price of charter. Charter of your choice is discounted $20 for specialty students.

Requirements – 2 dives, Open Water Diver ages 10 and up.  Dry Suit Diver Manual with Knowledge Reviews completed.  You must bring your own Dry Suit.

Best charters = Molokini Crater, Turtle Reef, Carthaginian

  • Be aware that PADI specialty classes do not allow students to be in any type of overhead environment making Lanai not a good charter on which to do specialties.
  • Most specialty courses can be completed as beach dives, however, completing them off the boat is an option.
  • You do not need to be a PADI certified diver to do PADI Specialty courses. Equivalent certification from any recognized scuba certification agency is fine (NAUI, SSI, SDI, CMAS, etc.).
  • As with any training, you will need to complete the PADI Medical Questionnaire and get Physician’s clearance if needed.
