Aloha All!

How’s your winter? Well I must tell you our Maui winter has been a “wild one”. Several South Pacific storms hit the islands in January and February bringing rain, wind, and high surf conditions. Were we still able to dive? On most days – yes. With the size of our dive vessels, and the shape of the coastline, we are generally able to find and tuck into a lee area. No worries about rain underwater … and what better thing to do on a rainy day anyway. Visitors took it all in stride, with most commenting “It’s not snow or ice!!” The storms have passed now and the beautiful, sunny days have returned. Ahhhh….

PADI/National Geographic Film Shoot

The first week in March brought a lot of excitement as a film crew arrived at Lahaina Divers to shoot a PADI / Nat’l Geographic presentation. If you’ve never seen a film shoot, it’s interesting and chaotic with bright lights all around, electrical cords everywhere, people talking all at the same time …. Cut! Cut!.... Roll!.. The crew shot a lot of stock footage at Lahaina Divers retail facility and underwater to be included in a PADI / National Geographic Diver program. For more information contact PADI at 1-800-729-7234 or online at www.padi.com .
