GENERAL DIVE SITE INFO

This site is located just west of Manele Bay off of the Four Seasons Hotel.  It is one of the largest dive sites we frequent and is comprised of a myriad of lava formations with walls, fingers, arches, tubes, caves, swim throughs and walls.  Depth ranges from 40 to 55 feet and covers well over several hundred square meters.  The name comes from a large boulder formation supported by four columns resting on top of one of the ridges.  It is covered in varied corals, tunicates and bryozoans and is a great place to spot nudibranchs.  Rare species such as the endemic yellow-striped coris, reticulated butterfly fish and occasionally even fire dart fish.  It is also a productive area to observe pipe fish, leaf scorpions, and sometimes Great Barracuda (very rare in Maui).
