PADI Open Water Diver Certification

You may schedule your Open Water Certification here.

1. Your tuition to Lahaina Divers Open Water Diver course includes:
   • Use of wetsuit
   • Use of buoyancy control device (BCD)
   • Use of regulator

All classroom, confined water, and open water training necessary to complete the requirements of PADI’s Open Water Diver course.

2. Each student needs to provide the following:
   • Transportation to and from the beach diving sites and Lahaina Diversstore located at 143 Dickenson Street
   • PADI Open Water Diver Manual (may be purchased at Lahaina Divers)
   • PADI Open Water Diver Student Log (may be purchased at Lahaina Divers)
   • Own mask, fins, snorkel and dive timer (may be purchased with student discount at Lahaina Divers)

One and half Days, All Outside and In The Water!

DAY 1 (8:30 am – 4:00 pm)

• Meet at the shop for the assessment quiz and to gear up before heading out to the beach - Bring towel, swimsuit, a light lunch and sunscreen.
• Water assessment (200 yd swim or 300 yd with mask, fins and snorkel and a 10 minute survival float or tread)
• All Confined Water Dives and Open Water Dive #1 and #2.

DAY 2 Standard (8:30 am – 12:00 pm)

• Meet at the shop to gear up before heading out to the beach.
• Open Water Dives #3 and #4

DAY 2 BOAT OPTION (12:30am – 4:30 pm) --- Instead of above Standard DAY 2

• Meet at the shop to gear up before heading out to the boat.
• Complete Water Dives #3 and #4.

Full PADI Open Water Certification

Full Certification in just 3 Days. Learn how to Scuba Dive with Lahaina Divers in Maui. We offer complete three-day Open Water Diver Certification courses. These courses include the same training taught over longer periods of time elsewhere, but offer visitors the opportunity to complete their training in three intensive days.  Students should purchase and read the PADI Open Water Manual and have completed the five Knowledge Reviews in the manual prior to the first day of class.

Classes run from 8:30 am to approx 4 pm each of the three days. You will be asked to read the PADI Open Water Manual and complete the knowledge reviews at the end of each chapter prior to your first day of class.

3-Day Course Structure:

DAY 1 (8:30 am – 4:00 pm)

• Beginning Monday and Wednesday weekly
• Student must have read all modules and completed knowledge reviews prior to start of first day’s class

DAY 2 (8:30 am – 4:00 pm – or as arranged by instructor)

• Beach – Bring swimsuit, towel, a light lunch, and sunscreen
• Confined Water Dives and Open Water Dives #1 and #2

DAY 3 (8:30 am – 12:30 pm – or as arranged by instructor)

• Beach - Bring swimsuit, towel, a light lunch, and sunscreen
• Open Water Dives #3 and #4

DAY 3 BOAT OPTION (12:30 pm – 4:30 pm)

• Meet at the shop before heading to Lahaina Harbor for the Two tank Turtle Reef charter
• Open Water Dives #3 and #4

3-Day Diving Course Registration:

Students need to stop by Lahaina Divers store prior to class start time to fill out student folders, medical forms (medical clearance by a physician may be necessary), and arrange for payment. Store hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily.

3 Day Diving Course Requirement:

Students must be able to preform a 200-yard swim or 300-yard mask, snorkel, fins swim and a 10-minute survival float or tread in order to complete the Open Water Certification.

Included: Classroom instruction, beach diving, all rental scuba gear necessary to complete your certification, and your photo and certification card.

Includes all instruction and skills necessary for Open Water Certification in a one-on-one setting with our staff of Master Scuba Diver Trainers. The prices above are "per person". You could have 1 private instructor for up to 4 people.
