PADI Advanced Open Water Class

LD - PADI Advanced Open Water The PADI Advanced Open Water course is a highly recommended way for everyone to gain experience and try several new and exciting dives! You will have an opportunity to learn Boat diving, Night Diving, Underwater Naturalist skills, AWARE Fish ID, Navigation, Peak Performance Buoyancy, and Deep diving. This classroom is the ocean! You can even try Multi-Level/Computer diving, Enriched Air (Nitrox), or Wreck diving, if you like! Plus, all of our Advanced courses include a "refresher dive" to let you brush up on your skills. This is a great opportunity to gain more diving experience and enhance your basic training skills. The Advanced Open Water Diver certification is a prerequisite to Rescue Diver several Diving Specialties and prestigious rating of Master Scuba Diver; the highest recreational diver rating.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Open Water/ Jr. Open Water Diver
  • Minimum age 12 Y/O


TIME REQUIRED:

  • 2 Days- 5 Dives

REQUIRED MATERIALS:

  • Student Materials: PADI AOW Crew Pak: (or eLearning) includes Adventures in Diving Manual, Logbook, 2 passport size photos.
  • Student Equipment: BCD, Regulator with computer, Wetsuit, Mask, Snorkel, Fins, Timing Device, Compass, Knife, Slate with pencil, and Recreational Dive Planner (RDP). Dive Light if selecting night dive.
  • Read  Selected Chapters (Textbook or online)
  • Answer Chapter Knowledge Reviews before class and bring them on your first day of class.
  • NOTE: Night dives are only done on Thursdays.

Class Schedule:

BEFORE class fill out

  • Complete PADI Student Record Folder, Medical Statement & Questionnaire, Statement of Understanding and Liability Release.

Read BEFORE class (Textbook or eLearning)

  • Complete Scuba Quick Review (pg. xiii - xiv)
  • Read Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Navigation, and Deep Dive Modules
  • Read one of the following: Boat, Underwater Naturalist, Multi-Level, or Fish ID Modules (for information regarding Night Dive and Drift Dive Modules please contact us at 800-998-3483 or email Training@lahainadivers.com)
  • Answer Knowledge Reviews for selected Modules.

DAY 1

  • Discuss Knowledge Reviews with Instructor
  • Do 3 dives with Instructor, Debrief, log dives.

DAY 2

  • Read Before Class
  • Read one of the remaining Modules
  • Answer Chapter Knowledge Reviews
  • Discuss Knowledge Reviews with Instructor
  • Do 2 dives with Instructor, Debrief, log dives, Complete paperwork

 Terms and Conditions:

  • Charters include: Use of tanks and weight belts. Rental wetsuits, BCs, a snorkel set and regulators available for $9.00 per item, per charter, unless otherwise specified. Regulators with dive computers are available for $15 per item, per charter.
  • Advanced Diving Education and Specialty Course prices do not include the price of charters.
  • Non-diving passengers and snorkelers may accompany certified divers for $79 on morning or afternoon charters. Children between 6 and 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
  • Multi-dive discounts applied for reserving directly with Lahaina Divers and paying in advance.
  • Cancellations within 48 hrs. of charter check-in time are non-refundable.
  • Pricing does not include Tax & Fees.
  • Specialty classes require at least Open Water Certification to participate.
  • Specialty pricing includes tanks, weights, instruction and certification card. Instructional materials and rental equipment, if required, are not included in the course cost.
  • Lahaina Divers reserves the right to change prices and schedules without prior notification.
  • Students need to stop by Lahaina Divers store prior to class start time to fill out student folders, medical forms (medical clearance by a physician may be necessary), and arrange for payment.
